Afterlife

Digital Triptych Design

For this artwork, I created three illustrations (Digital Triptych) to depict a scenery of a story based on one of the themes. After that, I submitted my artwork for the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards Competition.

Below are the guides for us:

  1. Think of a story where you can visualize the narrative as a triptych display.

  2. Try to create an intriguing story that can be visualized in a series of three, like for example the depictions of Past, Present and Future.

  3. Think of designs that capture the unique, fleeting, and meaningful moment in the narrative.

  4. Create sophisticated scenes to the subjects that interact both visually and psychologically with meaningful figures and ground relationships.

I decided to name my artwork as "Afterlife". This is because some religious tenets believe that a person will go to a particular space after death, which God predetermines. Some say an individual will be sent to heaven or hell, depending on the actions or beliefs during life.; either they deserve the comfort or get punished. Therefore, I created this piece of work by designing a devil/hell kind of look on the left and an angel/heaven one on the right. And lastly, a God/King is in the middle, who decides which direction individuals will send.
